Hi Gavin,

I'm building a website with maps over social-environmental problems in Southamerica. I downloaded your wms.js (thank you) and I made a simple modification to permit setup many maps at same time.

In your code, around line 125, you wrote "map.overlayMapTypes.insertAt(0, overlayWMS);"

I change it with: map.overlayMapTypes.setAt(setAtLevel, overlayWMS);

and I added setAtLevel parameter to:
function loadWMS(map, baseURL, customParams, setAtLevel)

Then, if you need to add more than one map, now you can do it.

If you need to unload a map, you know, just write:
map.overlayMapTypes.setAt(level,null);

My mother language is spanish, sorry by my english :)

Geoserver performs reprojection on the fly if you change the SRS to EPSG:900913.

The sample request you posted does not seem to work when changed to 900913. I get the following error message:

"
msWMSLoadGetMapParams(): WMS server error. Invalid SRS given : SRS must be valid for all requested layers.
"

This looks like a fault in the map server implementation (not supporting 900913(!?).

Another option is to perform reprojection in the js client. As this is a hack on top of google maps, this probably isn't a native option - although you might be able to import an openlayers js library that can perform this action (?). Let me know how you go!

I like this idea. I could successfully overlay a layer from geoserver. When I try to overlay a layer from another wms server ( I think it is a mapserver), it was not successful.

I think the reason is, for geoserver there is a default 900913 projection available for all layers , which is the required projection for Google but other servers 900913 projection may not available. Do you know solution for this?

It would be great this extension is compatible for other projection also.
