Unfortunately the lands of Service Oriented Architecture and Business Process Management didn't last as long as I hoped. TIBCO is a good company with some exceptional members of the professional services group, with a solid commercial software offering.
An opportunity came up to go back to Les Mills Asia Pacific - I will be working on bringing online the education and training systems, primarily using the python programming language (with the SQL Alchemy ORM library and PyXB object serialisation framework (that is compatible with JaXB - which we use extensively within our Java GUI client and Struts 2/Stripes web apps).
I am really looking forward to the next 12 months, Les Mills is a great company - extremely friendly, professional and motivated team and world leaders in the group fitness industry.
For a non-IT business you would be surprised how heavily the company relies on custom software to manage their core business processes, and how sophisticated the server environment really is.
Java, Python, Postgres, Jasper Reports, Zimbra, Trixbox VOIP, Terminal Server/Thin Clients, Nagios - all good fun.
